The author did a great job of setting the scene in Florida. Their use of descriptive language had me picturing myself in the sun - which was a great escape in the middle of winter. I overall storyline taking place in a hospitality setting made it more lighthearted than typical law enforcement-centered mysteries. The mystery was intriguing enough, but ultimately the character development fell a bit flat for me. The main character I found annoyingly cheesy and shallow.
