Bringing Down the Duke by Evie Dunmore

5.0

One of the greatest joys in life is a book you refuse to put down and end up reading in less than a day.

Evie Dunmore created something magical when she put together the League of Extraordinary Women. Annabelle is strong, stubborn, intelligent, and someone I want to be friends with. Sebastian is moody, broody, devastating, and someone I want to love forever. I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

Bits were infuriating, as one would expect when dealing with the fact that women can't vote yet and are "scientifically" proven to be inferior.... Let's just say I yelled at the book over a certain dinner guest.

Anyway, this book is perfect for: supporters of Elizabeth Bennet, champions of Mr. Darcy, raging (and silent) feminists, someone looking for the ~right~ amount of steam in a romance novel, and anyone who needs to be reminded that strength, determination, and love are all very good things.
