This book is an exciting and creatively layered dark adventure brimming with mystery, drama and intrigue.
You're thrown right into the action when a mystery villain undertakes a deadly hostile take over of a shady underworld empire using special Abilities.
Then told from two POV the story ventures in two key plots, Harlen starting at a new mysterious school - Mercroft Academy, and FBI Agent Dupont investigating impossible murders that lead him to the same Academy.
Both characters journeys move in parallel with their own drama, confrontations, setbacks and revelations, and soon the paths merge together when sinister events start to unfold at the Academy.
This is a well paced gripping story with lots of suspense and twists, and a creative sci-fi/magical element through the wordsmithing powers and reality shaping.
It's original and unique, and I didn't want to put it down.
