Charlie is out when he sits next to Nick for the first time in class. Everyone in school already knows he's gay. As far as Charlie knows, Nick is straight, like all the other Rugby players. Crushing on him seems like an extremely bad idea, but feelings can't helped the more time they spend together. Nick isn't like the other boys who have bullied Charlie. But he's still straight and Charlie knows he's headed for heartbreak. Little does he actually know Nick isn't as straight as he seems and is definitely crushing on Charlie back. What begins as a heartwarming, supportive friendship soon blossoms into more.
Heartstopper is a beautifully written, beautifully illustrated story about two boys finding themselves in each other while also falling in love that will leave you desperate for it not to end when the last page comes.
