starts off strong but meanders in the middle, those chapters definitely could have used some editing but makes up for it in the end. some of the events were lost on me because I didn't know the historical context. also did not care much for the descriptions of the city which was what made me pick it up; the characters said to be central were not well developed either. overall a nice read but definitely look up the content warnings beforehand.
