Legendary Islands of the Atlantic: A Study in Medieval Geography by William Henry Babcock
2.0
This is a somewhat interesting book by Babcock which was written in 1922 and is looking into the legendary (and mostly imagined) islands of the Pacific. These include some of the most famous ones (obviously Atlantis) and some obscure ones that I was not aware of (Brazil - as the name of an island, for example).
It starts out as being mildly interesting, but apart from not really offering too much of an explanation for these legends (especially in the case of Atlantis), the book drags on with similar inconsequential information about these hypothetical or imagined islands. I lost interest after a while and would like to see if there was a better treatment of this subject in the more than 100 years that passed since the book was published.
