One December Day by Rachel Marks
5.0
I rarely do grid reviews anymore and save them for stories but I needed to give this gorgeous book a place on my grid! I’d saved it for December because of the title but you could read this year round, it just happens to be set in December!
The book follows a couple on their anniversary every year for 15 years, through the ups and downs of real life but somehow the author manages to make the mundane exciting and beautiful. I absolutely loved it, I loved the characters and how true to reality it was. There wasn’t anything I’d change in the book - if you pick any book up in 2024 make it this one - it’s my fourth and (probably) final five star book of the year!
