The only negative thing I can say about this book is that it brought to an end the amazing series that is Unknown. This can't be read as a standalone, but if you have read Unknown and Unrest, you won't be disappointed with this exciting conclusion.
The book is a little different in that it is also written from Remy's POV, as well as Amber's. This was needed partly for the story to work, but it also helped provide an insight into the Baelese people. The conflict Remy felt was so well portrayed and I liked having this different 'voice' and perspective. Her empathy, even for the enemy, gave the book a really strong emotional edge.
The pace of the book is excellent, the plot twists and turns and I certainly couldn't predict what would happen next. I just so enjoyed the 'you can't keep us down' ethos, I do believe that Bahntan even tried to warn his fellow aliens of this little quirk of human nature. The book is full of ups and downs, both emotionally and in attempts to defeat the Baelese, it has gains and losses and lots of action.
I really have thoroughly enjoyed reading this series of books. Whilst the plot is very different, they put me very much in mind of the Hunger Games and Divergent series'. If you like a good dystopian/Sci-Fi novel with a touch of romance and a lot of human spirit I highly recommend this series of books.
