This book has great commentary on archetypal characters and monsters in the horror industry, as well as queer people’s place within it and if they too are allowed to survive. While the plot and major reveal was predictable for me, I found that to be fitting as the author discusses just how predictable horror is. Some of the sentiments felt a bit Hallmark at times, but I understood why Tingle included them. A really fun read with a great variety of monsters!
Graphic: Gore and Violence
