2nd reading: still as damn good as i remember since i last read it (in 2011).

i have to agree with helen small’s statement that the second volume of WH seems to have been added as an afterthought. it was a little bit like watching season 4-6 of glee. i can’t bring myself to care as much for the second generation. and there were no killer lines, at least not since the infamous “you said i killed you—haunt me, then!” but heathcliff’s “for what is not connected with her to me?” in volume ii, chapter xix comes closest.
