Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf
3.0
This is probably more a 3.5 for me. Beautifully written, and an incredible example of modernism and stream of consciousness in literature. That said, it just wasn't my favorite sort of read. I tend to prefer a stronger focus on narrative, and this novel dwells so much within the minds of its characters. I definitely think appreciators of fiction should read this, however, because Woolf was definitely an expert of her craft. Each word seems intentionally placed and the language is delightfully rich and chewy. At times it feels like an ADHD fever dream, but that also lends itself to being incredibly fluid and human.
