I'd Die for You: And Other Lost Stories by F. Scott Fitzgerald

5.0

A great first read for 2023 - Fitzgerald never disappoints and there is a short story in this collection fit for every mood. His expected themes of 1920s wealth, Hollywood and fame are intertwined and influenced by real-life experiences of him and Zelda's times traveling and being admitted in mental health institutions. I really like the snippets from the editor before each story, outlining where Fitzgerald sent these to and why they were not published - the use of letter correspondence in this regard is excellent!

The book ends with "Thank You For The Light" - which I thought was a very fitting end to the whole compilation. (Not to mention that, as I read it, on a cold January evening in London, I was very thankful for the light seeping into my bedroom window).
