The Dragon Republic by R.F. Kuang
5.0
When they said to use the characters to drive the plot, I wasn't informed you should make the reader love them! ; ^;
This book is beyond words. It seems as though it everything has been well thought of and intricately put to place one by one. If shows the brutality of warfare, and how Rin just craves it. The Cike had been laid down in a good foundation of the first book, and their fate was a knife in my heart at the end of this one.
I both dread and anticipate the events of the next book!
(Not to mention the socio/political aspects of the book that cut true even to modern society)
