If I just rated books by how much I enjoyed the reading experience, this would not be a 5. It's frustrating, it's brutal, it's heartbreaking, and it's too real. The women in it don't get closure or a happy ending, though there is a glimmer of hope at the end. But Wetmore has created a powerful story of loss, trauma, and recovery with fully realized, complex characters and her striking writing took me on an emotional roller-coaster, so 5 it is.
