Wicked All Night by Jeaniene Frost

4.0

desperate to save her husband ian, veritas accepts help from phanes. but after saving ian, he kidnaps her and tricks her into taking him to the netherworld where he breaks two gods free. those gods wreck havoc on earth and the only way to save it is to convince the vampires and the ghouls, mortal enemies, to work together. meanwhile ian had to resort to drastic measures to save veritas from phanes and those measures are now killing him.

-4 stars, maybe 3. not sure.

"are you crazy?"
"since the day we met."

"yes, well, despite your intentions, terrible things often happen when we make up other people's minds for them while trying to protect them."

"telling ian to get rogered by a daisy chain of knives was almost poetic compared to how an american would simply say 'fuck you in every hole!'"

"if, if, if... all laid at my feet."
"stop whipping yourself."

"only monsters take all from those who have little."

"the last time i was confident that all would be well, you ended up dead. so, no offense, but i'll stick with being paranoid and anxiety ridden. i've had much better luck with those two."
