Rumors of War by Dean Hughes

5.0

I loved this series. I was a little hesitant to read this series because I feel like some LDS writers can be a little cheesy. . but this was not the case! Hughes did a wonderful job of showing how war affects everyone. I loved how he had characters not only in America, but in Germany too. I know it's a fictional story, but he did try his best to gather accurate sources to portray how life would have been during World War II. I fell in love with the Thomas family and cried when they cried and laughed out loud in a lot of parts too. I loved how he didn't end the series with the war ending, he went into depth of how the war affected the family afterwards, mainly those who fought in it. It was wonderful to read about how just because a war is over, doens't mean you feel better right away. I would reccommend this series to anyone who wants to read about that time era.
