The Man in the Moon by William Joyce
adventurous
fast-paced
4.5
Enter a bizarre magical universe through this imaginative picture book from the creator of the literary world that became the beloved Dreamworks animated film The Guardians of Childhood.
TO TEACH?
Though I do teach picture books, this one doesn't showcase a great deal of diversity in its composition (though the illustrations are gorgeous). It's more like an illustrated story in a picture book format than a picture book that uses the pictures and words to tell a story in concert. I would be more likely to use The Man in the Moon as a fun example of the fantasy genre for a junior class.
