This book was NOTHING as I expected. What an emotional rollercoaster. I cried ugly tears, multiple times. Although fiction, the historical issues, concurrent with today's ongoing issues, are well written and make you think how things have, and maybe haven't, progressed. The love story is beautiful, yet heartbreaking. A must read.
