Elizabeth Acevedo delivered heartache and I welcomed it with open arms. This was beautifully written and so, so compelling, even while hurting my soul. I recommend listening to the audiobook like I did, and keeping it at 1x speed to really appreciate the rhythm and poetry of the words.
