As soon as Karina Halle announced this little mermaid/pirate reimagining with a dark twist I was so excited for its release! 

The world built in this book was amazing! It had either action or something exciting happening with the story throughout. Every few chapters would end with me shocked or gasping and leaving me wanting to continue reading to find out what happens next! I had absolutely no idea where this story was headed and you definitely won’t either. There were so many surprises. I also loved the ending and how everything was resolved. Though this is a stand-alone I loved this world so much and definitely wouldn’t be opposed to future books taking place in a similar setting
