3.75 stars! I appreciated the issues this book tackled, as they’re relevant even now. Japanese racism is something that few are bold enough to talk about and dissect. I’ve seen anti-Korean rallies and those alt-right vans with my own two eyes, and it’s shameful. However, it felt as though the characters themselves lacked depth. I think this story would benefit from being longer, but that’s just me! The relationship between violence and “familial love” was also something I appreciated represented on page. I enjoyed this one!
