My Oxford Year by Julia Whelan
3.5
Book #98 read in 2024
Julia Whelan brings characters to life in every book she narrates, including this one. The characters in this book were not the easiest to connect with though. Ella has big plans in her year studying abroad, but she didn't factor Jamie into those plans. What starts out as promising, takes a dramatic turn that really changed the book for me and it becomes heavy. That was not what I was expecting and having gone into the story blind, I didn't know that maybe this was the wrong time for this read in my life. That being said, Julia Whelan is so talented and I will continue reading and listening to her!
