Volume 8 is made up from flashbacks from the childhood of Toka mixed in with fighting between the investigators and ghouls. The Owl finally made a battle appearance. This is my least favorite volume so far, as the flashbacks were chaotic and partial, while the fight scenes were fuzzy and hard to follow.
