*I have not read any other Throne of Glass book yet, I read Assassins Blade first*
Wow. After enjoying ACOTAR but being a bit underwhelmed, it took me a long time to pick up this series and I’m so glad I did. I can see why so many people say it’s her best series, the world building being unveiled piece by piece, Celaena just as a whole, and Sam….. this whole book had me on the edge of my seat.

Celaena herself is a prickly, headstrong FMC and I would commit Geneva suggestions for her. Her pain from all the betrayals and stubbornness to see the truth at the end… she is one of my favorite characters I’ve read. Period. I especially loved the novella with the bar maid on her travels, the women helping women subplot was great to see.

*Spoilers beyond this point*
I did get Sam’s death spoiled for me, in so much that I knew he’d die but not anything else and that’s why I put off finishing this book for so long. Sam was my sweet cinnamon roll. However, I do think the author was a smidge heavy handed with the foreshadowing, but it didn’t ruin anything for me. I’m still emotionally traumatized

I’m glad I have throne of glass ready to go, this series looks really promising and I’m excited to see where it goes!
