Fast wie zu Hause by Karolina Chyżewska

I really appreciated the ideas behind this graphic novel, but I feel like the execution lacked somewhat. The art style was fun and fit the story itself, though I can see that some people might turn away from such linework. My biggest issues lie with the pacing and structure of the story: the author moves from Germany to Poland for a semester in order to reconnect with her polish roots, all while the reader gains additional insight into her mother's life in Poland and the family's journey to Germany. Both stories felt like they could have benefited from a clear focus - either a tighter intersection of "present day" and "past" (I remember Drei Wege handling separate stories with parallels rather well) or just two short stories alltogether.
