Killing Floor by Lee Child
Did not finish book.
One I had to give up reading, and was so suprised I didn't like this book.
I've been told by multiple persons that this series of books is "amazing, and a must read" I then took the plunge after watching an interview with Stephen King and Lee Child, where King was bigging this series up and even saying he has put the main Character "Jack Reacher" into some of his novels!
So, after just over 300 pages in I finally had to give up on this. Why? - Because its not very well written, the story is slow and boring, and the characters/plot is silly and unrealistic for a story that is set in the real world.
The most annoying part of the book is the way Child repeats so much, and even on the same page sometimes. Also, the way he does speach feels like a kids story... I said... then she said... then I said... then he said... etc. etc. Just does not flow, and feels amature.
I started off thinking, ok so there seems to be a secret plot going on here... but by the mid-point of the book I couldn't give a hoot where it was going.
It was just story of a guy, who for some reason, after wrongly accused of murder, was then shacked up with the only female cop in the building, and allowed access to any info on the continuing murder investigation, and even provided a gun to go kill some dudes... oh dear!
Im sorry, its not a great book and I would give it 1.5 stars at the most.
(Now to go sell off all the other Reacher books Ive slowly been picking up the past few weeks!)
