Our Lady of Pain by Marion Chesney
2.0
I've been reading this series super slowly over the past couple years (read the first one in September 2018). It's fun and free (on Hoopla), and it's nice when I just want something period and simple and short. Since this is the last book of the series I expected it to finally resolve some of the plot-lines. But it was so frustrating! It didn't resolve anything until the last THREE MINUTES! (maybe spoiler?) On the whole, I found it a pretty unsatisfying conclusion. If the goal of the series was to show how messed up the patriarchal society of the Edwardian era was, then it succeeded.
