Unmasking autism review: 5 ⭐️
I read this at the perfect time in my life. At 25 years old I started discovering my neurodiversity through therapy. I’m very fortunate that my therapist is taking the approach of teaching me about self advocacy. I came across this book when we first started these conversations and it has helped me feel extremely seen and validated.
This book is so informational and the intersectional research that is brought into the conversation of autism is much needed. Devon Price also writes in a way that is extremely accessible and inclusive with many testimonials and anecdotes of diverse voices in the autistic community.
I would highly recommend this book to everyone. From people seeking validation on their neurodiverse self discovery to family and friends with loved ones on the spectrum seeking to understand and support, and I’d even recommend this to everyone else in society because information on autism is so underrepresented, white washed, and in drastic need of more attention and compassion in various cultures, socioeconomic upbringings, and schools of thought.
