Upstairs Girls: Prostitution in the American West by Michael Rutter
2.0
When I first saw this book I just had to have it. I have always been interested in women in history and women’s health, plus when I was a child I lived out West and my family would visit old mining towns that were considered ghost towns. There I would learn a little about prostitution in the Wild West, so of course this book peeked my interest.
After reading it, though, all I can say is that you shouldn’t waste your time on it. The information was interesting but the book was not. The writing is repetitive and choppy and so is some of the content.
