I love horror and slashers and thought for sure that I’d love this. I’m honestly not sure what I just read, but I kept trying to push through because people said the last 20% of the book made it worth it. 

I really did not like this book. I felt like what actually happened and what Jade narrated was something I had to sort through. I thought maybe it wouldn’t end up being a horror novel at all, but an episode Jade had that in no way mirrored reality and I feel like I could have gotten behind that ending, but for the town to have suffered that much chaos at the hands of various people just seems so wild. 

There are a lot of themes to unpack, but mostly I don’t feel like I enjoyed the ride at all. I’m going to put this and the sequel in my donation pile.
