Cursor's Fury by Jim Butcher

4.0

These are not the most earth-shattering of epic fantasies, but they are quick and entertaining. I like how women are main characters (not always the case in this genre...cough cough, Brandon Sanderson) and even if it’s basically American history (bad guy slave states revolt because the women-led abolitionist movement threatens to abolish slavery!) with some basic elemental magic and “races” of people (wise barbarians; Wolf people from across the ocean; and regular people who value those with magical powers, even though the leader among them will rise up with NO FURYCRAFFFT DUHNDUHN DUHNNNNN. Except he found it at the ens. Maybe. Guess I’ll have to read #4 to know!
