The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

This is an exceptionally written book. Everything is so insanely good and in-sync with each other. Starr is amazing, I was so in love with her, her morals and everything. I am not black but the whole being one Starr at Garden Heights and being the other Starr in Williamson is so relatable. I read this as part of the banned books week, and I totally understand why this is banned in some places because of the shooting but actually this is what is happening. People don't want people to read things that they are afraid of and what people will say. We know Black Lives DO Matter and that killing is bad but people don't want to face up to the facts. I think its time that people everywhere read this book and stop banning it, because knowledge and culture need to be known to these closed off people. A spectacular book and I cannot wait for the movie.
