Alien: Out of the Shadows by Tim Lebbon

3.0

This was enjoyable and fast-paced. The production value was great and Ripley's character was very on point, the overall feeling of the original 'Alien' movies was very well captured.

Sadly, the plot was not very original and the conclusion, especially for Ripley, felt forced - which it was, because we all knew what needed to happen, since this takes place between Alien movies.

I can understand the wish to have Ellen Ripley in this, but am left feeling like it would have been better had they told a completely new story with new characters, without having to fit it into existing movies. 'Alien' is just not a movie series you can do that with.
