Everything I Learned About Racism I Learned in School by Tiffany Jewell

challenging informative reflective medium-paced

5.0

A quick and important read, this book, through personal stories, essays and poems, demonstrates how our schooling system is set up to perpetuate systemic racism. I especially appreciated the flipping of terminology, from using “minority” to “people of the global majority”, and “achievement gap” to “opportunity gap” or even “educational debt”.
