This was one of the first books in my audiobook experiment. It’s also one of the few nonfiction books I’ve read to completion. I enjoyed it as an audiobook but I’m curious if that’s because it was a memoir so still very story-based versus facts and studies of other nonfiction. I enjoyed Tara’s story and writing and found it interesting. I would recommend this read to open others’ minds, to hear and empathize with a story you probably have never heard or imagined before. I’m impressed by Tara’s accomplishments and also humbled by how honestly she lays out her story for us.
