Honestly I really wasn’t expecting much from this book but I have thoroughly enjoyed it and will be getting the next one in the series. I think the next book will be make or break as to whether I read the rest, but as a debut novel this is great and if she continues writing in this vein and building the characters I think this series will be one of my new favourites. I think this is the first fantasy who has aimed to write ‘strong, independent woman’ and actually succeeded.
