Girls of July by Alex Flinn
2.5
I really wanted to like this book, but for something purporting to be about a close, almost familial friendship between four girls, I got none of that. Only Spider and Britta's relationship felt fleshed out. Meredith spent the whole book with her boyfriend, and Kate was babysitting a five-year-old. After the first few days, they spent time together as the four of them exactly twice. At the end, when they were all talking about close they are, it all felt so hollow. They barely felt like friends at all, let alone family.
