The Bone Woman: A Forensic Anthropologist's Search for Truth in the Mass Graves of Rwanda, Bosnia, Croatia, and Kosovo by Clea Koff
5.0
Absolutely heartbreaking and powerful. The Bone Woman tells Koff's story of her development as a forensic anthropologist specifically as it related to her early work in Rwanda, Bosnia, Croatia, and Kosovo. At times the investigative tone of the text takes on a true crime feel. As Koff says repeatedly, in forensic anthropology, sometimes the bodies found in mass graves are the only evidence we have of an atrocity.
