THE AWAKENING - A Solitary Soul (Feminist Classics Series): One Women's Story from the Turn-Of-The-Century American South by Kate Chopin

4.0

“Conditions would some way adjust themselves, she felt; but whatever came, she had resolved never again to belong to another than herself.”

Just dropping some of my thoughts:

- immersive third person narration
- the arc is basically you witnessing the protagonist's awakening
- vvvvvvv introspective
- but heads up: the plot was dragging
- was also condemned as “immoral” by her critics in the past
- so basically, not for misogynists
- vv controversial so best for book-club reading!!
