Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner
emotional
hopeful
inspiring
reflective
fast-paced
5.0
The best memoir I have ever read.
This book had been on my TBR for a very long time and upon realizing that the author is the songwriter and vocalist of "Japanese Breakfast", it immediately moved to the top of my list.
Zauner fascinatingly explores themes of family, mortality, grief, daughterhood, and culture through rich descriptions of food that accompanies her through moments in life both big and small.
I devoured this book in only 3 sittings. Zauner just wrote in such an engaging manner that it was difficult to put away.
This is a book that every twenty something needs to read.
