The Killing Lessons by Saul Black

3.0

There's plenty going on here to keep a thriller fan interested, but nothing too innovative or new for this type of storyline. I definitely stayed intrigued while reading, but there's something about the book that kept me at a distance, like I couldn't quite get into the characters as real people. It's more like watching an episode of good crime TV, like Criminal Minds, where there is some character development, but mostly the story is about the crime itself and all the energy goes into telling that story. Nice, quick thriller without any real mystery. A good story nonetheless.
