This one has such a sadder tone than the rest of Sager's books. While it still has the creepy paranormal factor, it also has a tenderness that I wasn't prepared for. I was going to give this one a 3 star until the twist around the 65% mark happened. That caught me off guard and made me feel so much more sympathy for Ethan.
Ethan's best friend Billy goes missing after a night of camping in Ethan's backyard thirty years ago. After marital issues, Ethan finds himself back in his childhood home and the same reoccurring dream. The loss of his best friend thirty years ago sets him on a journey to try to figure out what happened to Billy. Freaky stuff also starts happening around Ethan's neighborhood and house that make him think that Billy is back for revenge or trying to make Ethan figure out the truth about what happened to Billy on that warm July night.
