After reading The Silent Patient, I thought: I hate it, but I love it. After finishing this story, however, I just hate it. And I really really wanted to like it, but I don't.

The first half of the book was quite slow, filled with anxious feelings towards people who weren't really relevant to the story (Henry, I'm looking at you). Then, Alex really forcibly tried to push the idea of a cult, which I must say I did believe, but it was too obvious (so couldn't be true). The actual outcome was just.. weird. It felt random, rushed, not thought-through.

I'm just disappointed. I rate it a 2 out of 5.
