Somebody's Daughter by Ashley C. Ford

emotional reflective sad medium-paced

5.0

This is Ashley C. Ford's memoir. She talks about the difficulty of being raised by a single mother and going through puberty. Ford describes very well being afraid of her mother's reactions and punishments. She is affected by her mother's and grand-mother's words. She is honest and holds back nothing in her attempt to come to peace with the things that have happened to her. She is brave to be so honest and it's possible that here story sill help others out there who may be going through similar situations. I highly recommend listening to the audiobook which is read beautifully by Ashley C. Ford! I listened to it on Scribd while reading the physical copy.
