No I don’t think you understand… I’m OBSESSED!
I was supposed to be buddy reading this with my two of my friends and I’m ashamed to say… I flew ahead and completed it in 24 hours.
I was charmed by Tessa Dare’s writing from page one. It was illogical and entirely inevitable at the same time.
The whole idea of this book was absurdly romantic. I absolutely love how sweet it is. Every moment is so tender and pure. Logan and Maddie are so adorable together and on their own as individuals.
Maddie was a perfect historical romance heroine. She was a woman of her time and yet she was driven, independent, logical and still romantic, and soft.
Logan’s desire for family and love and to give him men a home they deserved after the war was such a wholesome motivation. I loved finally hearing him admit how Maddie’s letters affected him physically and emotionally.
This book was also hilarious! One scene in particular made me laugh, possible as much as I ever had in a book. It’s the scene with the poem for those who have read it. I hope you laughed as much as I did. I had literal (and I so mean that literally) tears in my eyes.
Finally, the s p I c e. Oh yes there is spice but honestly I found the anticipation, the slow burn, to be the sexiest part.
Overall this is mt first book by Tessa Dare but I endorse her books from here on! Read for a laugh, a sweet love, and steamy romance.
P.S. OMG I ALMOSF FORGOT TO GIVE MY FAVORITE CHARACTER GRANT A SHOUT OUT!
