I wish I'd had the chance to read this book when I was a kid, because I think I might appreciate it much more if that had been the case. I'm too cynical at this point in life to be able to stomach the "sweetness" portrayed by the love between the two brothers. However, it is a beautiful story, and a unique perspective on the process of death and dying.
