The writing style for this book was incredible, the story flowed effortlessly. From breaking down the characters as individuals and showing how the family meshes together made the story what it is.

Southern families always have secrets, at least the ones I know. And death always has a way to bring truth to the light.

The quote from the book, “Truth is easy to push down, to make something else when it’s an unconfirmed, unspoken thing.” is definitely one that will stick with me.

Seeing how communication has the possibility to change generational trauma was the highlight of this story for me.

I look forward to anything Latoya will put out into the world!
