10 Things That Never Happened by Alexis Hall

5.0

Look, I am Alexis Hall trash - I love the way he writes humour, how his books have a deep sense of place and time without making a non-English reader feel alienated, how he offers deep and thoughtful commentary on class without his books sounding the least bit didactic, and most of all how he puts together his romances so that they're on the average-to-long side but never have any dull or weak moments in them. This one had everything PLUS a phenomenal narration of the audiobook, so it clearly needs to go on my list of contestants for my favourite book of the year.
