FMC was bland, the storytelling and prose felt bad, worldbuilding bad, plot not gripping in any way. Bunch of tired tropes. 
Probably shouldn't have tried reading it right after finishing J. Kristoff's Empire of the Damned, which was a spectacular vampire book.
