The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
4.0
This is really cute and I totally enjoyed it, though I was confused at times because as I was reading I thought, shouldn't this be classified as a children's book? But it's marketed to adults. Why? Because the narrator is gay and an adult? It's more of a fable or fantasy, and it spoke to all of my fantasies growing up--a "found" home--where those who are damaged and don't fit in come and find home and healing. That said I think it's great for adults or kids, a story about paying attention to what makes you feel alive, what brings color to your life. A story about not giving in to soul-sucking bureaucracy, and standing up to jerks and protecting that who/which you love.
